After six years to find this blog all still here is rather fun, it's a bit like archeology, also rather good to re-read the posts and realise that after six years of togetherness I still feel the same about Greg.
Funny to think that soon we will have been married as long as Jenny and I were and that in fact we've been together longer.
Six year on the children are grown, Jess 17 and Stephen 14, and so much has happened. The last blog posts talked about Cairns, and I've been a Deputy Principal for almost 6 years now.
The next quest is fast approaching. Do I stay in teaching or move into the vast unknown of the work
Life outside education? Time I suppose will tell.

Another day in paradise
We are so lucky to be living in a first world country which is comparitively well run, by a forward looking government. We have an excellent standard of living and are well rewarded for the work we do.
Yes the climate is hugely changeable, and in winter simply awful, but today the sun is shining, the sky is clear blue and tomorrow is Saturday Hooray!
I took this picture at Uluru when I got to go there last year, I really am a lucky man!

I'm Back
I thought it was about time I re-activated my blog. So much has happened over the past few months, the most significant being my Civil Union with Greg and, for me anyway, finally filling my Gran in on how things really are.

Her response to my earth shattering news was excatly what I hoped it would be which was along the lines of, "It doesn't change anything naturally." She was however more than a little peeved at being the last person in the family to get the whole pictyre as to why my marriage had ended and why I, "Haven't found a nice Kiwi girl?"
My Father wasn't totally thrilled that I spilled the beans, after expressly forbidding me from telling, but he seems to have got over it now and things are back on an even keel.
After the Civil Union we went to Sydney on Honeymoon. I expected to like Sydney but not just how much I'd love it! We did the whole tourist thing with a tour of the harbour. These two were just a part of the vast wealth of beautiful things Australia had to offer.
We also went to Bondi Beach. Definately just as wonderful as all the hype. We decided that the average age there was most likely no more than 17 and that it was oviously THE place for buffed young hotties to see and be seen.

Almost there
It is rather good to realise that we are well on our way towards Christmas, with the promise of exciting visitors from SA and then in January the celebration of a Civil Union!!
It is rather funny to think that there are a number of things I'm not going to have to do again; blind dates are at the top of the list of things I won't miss! Next is most definately Friday nights alone at home. It's not that I might not have a quiet evening or two, its the fact that they won't see me sitting dejectedly watching TV.
Things I am really enjoying are having someone to cook for, and having a reason to watch what I spend and plan for an exciting future.
All up I think I'm a very lucky man!

Oh no ! Age takes another victim
We went shopping yesterday, my afianced and I. There was a special, two pairs of jeans for $50, not bad! After the button incident a week or so ago, when i nearly shot my beloved with a button from my overtaxed jeans I thought the offer was too good to be missed. I took a pair of jeans one size larger and entered the depth of the changing room. Two sizes up, later I emerged, saddned and unfortunately comfortable.
Of all the things I've lost, I miss my waist the most!

Another silly poem
There once was a teacher named Pete
who found that he just had to eat,
hot macaroni cheese
spread over his knees
Which caused him to blister his feet!
